Intermediates and progressing skiers will get the most out of the Playmaker 87. If you're learning park and tricks, this is a great place to be. Also, if you spend most of your time in an all-mountain format, going between trees, bumps, groomers, and steeps, the Elan Playmaker 87 will hold up just fine.

Highlights:

An energetic wood core and a playful shape are more than enough when coming from Elan. While these skis don't get the carbon tubes of the wider skis in the line, most skiers won't need them as the camber adds a lot of energy to the mix.

Things to consider:

While this ski excels in the mid-range, it's not overly powerful for aggressive skiers. It works best in slower carves and softer snow as well as park.
